Abstract

The Ramayana's portrayal of plants and forests goes beyond mere scenery; it serves as a reflection of the cultural and ecological consciousness of ancient India. Through the epic's verses, readers are transported into the heart of tropical deciduous forests, introduced to economically valuable plants, and invited to witness the sanctity of sacred groves. The interweaving of botanical elements in the Ramayana not only adds depth to the narrative but also emphasizes the profound connection between humans and the natural world in the ancient Indian ethos.
